The Grundtvig programme
The Grundtvig programme focuses on the teaching and study needs of learners taking adult education and ‘alternative’ education courses, as well as the organisations delivering these services. It aims to help develop the adult education sector, as well as enable more people to undertake learning experiences, notably in other European countries.Summary of the “More than music” project
The lead idea of the "More than music" project is to
exchange intergenerational and intercultural knowledge and experience through
the world wide understandable medium - music.
The aim of the partnership comprising of amateur music ensembles and
musicians from different Central European countries is to learn from each other
using all the variety of musical expression - listening to foreign musicians
performing in their language, teaching them how to interpret musical pieces in
the language of their neighbours or performing together new pieces composed as
a result of intercultural and cross boarder collaboration. In this project
music is a learning instrument; a tool which leads to better understanding of
all the history, tradition and culture shared in the past centuries.
During intense rehearsing, performing and recording of new pieces
produced within the project time, all participants will discover areas of cross
boarder collaboration which they yet have not focused on. As a result of the
cooperation there will not only be the public performances and new musical
pieces in all partners languages, but also an audiovisual chronicle of the
project.
The message of the project is clear:"Let us make music
together in order to understand each other doing music better than just in
words. Let us compose and create some new music build on tradition and
innovation. Maybe it will inspire us for innovative intercultural action
outside the world of music as well".
The outcomes of the project: ·
Concerts in Czech republic, Poland and Slovakia ·New musical pieces which lean on a strong historical tradition but which at the same time reflect the shared intercultural understanding and combine ancient features with innovative elements. ·Variety of activities prepared within the "More than music" project strengthen language education, music education, education of arts managers and at the same time education of new audience. ·A “Making off” movie produced by all project participants
